Equine Staff provides the advertising to fill their horse related jobs with three main services:
i. Recruitment- This is where Equine Staff will advertise, pre screen, pre- interview job seekers on the phone, set up interviews, and reference check staff- doing everything for the employer to find them the right staff member, this allowing the employer to stay confidential and take care of their own business while Equine Staff take care of their staffing needs.
ii. Job Advertising- Allowing employers to place their job ad online on the equine staff web page and have job seekers contact them directly.
iii.Job Seeker assistance- Assisting job seekers find certain jobs; resume development, writing covering letters etc
Business owner duties
Equine Staff has been running in Australia for the past 5 years and already has an extensive database of clients. We have over 5000 at any one time on our database of people looking for employment and has started overseas at all other countries in the last few months boosting our job seeker list allowing people to work anywhere in the world. Equine Staff is already well know with most clients coming from word of mouth and us being in the top Google listings for horse jobs. As the web page, domain, web hosting and base clientele list is looked after the roles of a business owner are;
- Marketing- Focus advertising in your location from newspaper or magazine advertising to telemarketing at your own business budget or group advertising for larger campaigns can be shared through all business location owners on negotiation.
- State/ country client care-
ADVERTISERS- Most advertisers will register directly via the web page. When an advertiser places a job ad in your state/ country you are sent an email. You then have to approve the advertiser/ check that payment has been made, send invoice out and send confirmation email/ receipt of payment to the client. Advertisers will then go in to place jobs online that go up automatically. Normally nothing further has to be done as the jobs are automatically sent out to all job seekers looking for work in that location. To promote the job further you can also place the job on Equine Staff’s social network pages such as face book and twitter. As not all people can use the internet some employers will phone and you can either take the job details/ payment over the phone or fax them an application form so they can fax it back. It’s then a matter of putting in their business and job details online on behalf of the employer.
RECRUITERS- Employers that want to use private recruitment will either phone or email you- you will need to fax/ email them out forms for them to send back with job details and payment. You then place the job ad online and start sourcing potential staff for the employer. Most job seekers will apply directly for these jobs to you, however harder to fill jobs you will need to search and contact potential job seekers- we already have an easy to use job seeker search on the database. Applicants that apply for the job have to be pre-screened. Pre-screening is the matter of matching the applicants who have applied for the job to the job. E.g. if the job requires someone that is an experienced track rider- then you can’t send the employer applicants that are dressage riders only. This requires a good understanding of the horse industry the job roles, horse sports etc. The top applicants are then pre-interviewed over the phone- this includes asking details such as why they are leaving their current job, why they have unemployment gaps on their resume, their riding level, fitness level, plus any other questions that relate to the employers job. During this whole process you need to lisase with the employer to what process/stage you are up to etc. After pre-interviewing job seekers over the phone you can normally send the employer the top applicants/ most suitable applicants for the jobs. Most employers will set or get you to set up a formal interview at the employer’s stud- this is just a matter of contacting the job seeker with a suitable time to meet the employer and sending them directions. However some employers may want reference checks done before and some require it after this process- its just about liaising with the employer to see what they want. Reference checking is about riding 2-3 references that the job seeker has given you to find out what type of worker they are, why they left work etc- We already has a basic form that can be used to conduct references. Once the employer is happy and they hire the applicant it is best practice to lisase with the employer and the job seeker after the 1st day, first week, first month and 3rd month. Some recruitment packages require a 3 month replacement period so if the job seeker leaves then you have to re advertise the job and find a new applicant, this is why finding the best applicant the first time and liaising with both employer and job seeker during the first 3 months is important.
JOB SEEKER ASSISTANT- Some job seekers need more help to find jobs, create resumes and write applications. You can charge job seekers for this help so you must be able to create resume, write application letters and have a great knowledge of job searching yourself – we can help you with this during the 4 weeks training period.
3. Plus other business duties of owning your own business- book keeping, tax, business registration in your location etc
